Our Story

The Hedgerow Hound started in 2019 having pursued our already passionate affinity with sustainable and delicious food. Since then we have been lucky enough to serve our family favourites and creations as street food vendors as well as event, wedding, festival and pop-up caterers across the UK!

In 2023 we finally opened our own small eatery in Plymouth City Centre where our fabulous little team serve up delicious, locally sourced brunch, lunch , set menus, specialist drinks and more!

Our food is inspired by what we seasonally grow and forage in our home on Dartmoor National Park, as well as a life long love for world food and our own culinary experimentation. Giving us a varied and ever changing menu inspired by our wonderful team and favourite foods growing up as a family.

Working alongside the Real Ideas Organisation gave us incredible opportunities spent catering for the likes of the Seaspiracy G7 Fringe event & Spatial Sound 2021. They have also given us the chance to have a prep kitchen at the Devonport Guildhall in Plymouth we can’t thank them enough for their support.

Starting this journey in 2019 meant we opened and went straight into the COVID pandemic and lockdowns. During this time we endeavoured to support our local communities by growing and cooking up fresh food and deli items for home deliveries, sharing how to make people’s food waste go farther with recipes and sprouting/ kitchen gardening tips, supplying local independent shops and our community run pub, street food collections and food events come rain or shine from Nudge Community Builder’s site, and pop-up deli counters at Jar Zero Waste.
